It’s too early to talk about the Spaniard’s return to football
Reserve goalkeeper Paris Saint Germain Sergio Rico was discharged from the hospital where he had been since the end of May.
Recall that the 29-year-old Spaniard was in intensive care after a horse ride. There was a collision, and Sergio, falling, was hit by a hoof on the head. He was diagnosed with a cerebral hemorrhage. At first, the player’s condition was assessed as critical.
And now, after almost three months, the goalkeeper was allowed to leave the Virgen del Rocío hospital in Seville. The medical institution did not provide information about whether Rico has the opportunity to return to football.
Sergio Rico, a graduate of Seville, will turn 30 on September 1st. He has been with PSG since 2019. For all the time, he spent 24 matches as part of the Parisian club (14 – “to zero”), the last of them – already in November 2021.
PSG, the reigning champions of Ligue 1, failed to score in the opening round of the French championship (0:0). Luis Enrique’s team will play Toulouse on 19 August next.
