Dawn’s mentor – about the UPL match against Alexandria and the upcoming European Cup duel
Head coach Zari Nenad Lalatovich commented on the fourth round match against Alexandriaand also spoke about the future rival of the Luhansk club in Europa League.
“The opponent played better in the first half. Created a few moments, but not one hundred percent. We worked in defense very organized. There was a desire to work on counterattacks. We wanted to give them the ball in the first half of the game and seize the initiative in the second. In the second half they played more aggressively than Oleksandriya. At the end of the fight, they added, created several chances, but there was no necessary concentration at the final stage of the attacks. The account, in general, is natural.
“This is only my fourth match in Ukraine. I get acquainted with the philosophy of Ukrainian football, with the teams. When the injured Butko and Danchenko return, we will become stronger. Looking forward to their return.”
“We watched both games of Slavia with Dnepr-1. Slavia scored an early goal, which gave them confidence. The team from Prague is very aggressive. Operates close to players. She has very good pressure. Central defenders are not afraid to play one on one. We need to be very disciplined, play compactly and endure duels. We’ll have moments.”
“There was a very good atmosphere at the stadium, many fans will come. Our guys probably forgot how to play in full stands. We hope that the situation in Ukraine will change and our fans will be able to come to the stadium. I wish this with all my heart.”
Recall that within the framework of the 4th round of the UPL, Zorya and Oleksandriya played a draw (0:0). With four points, the Luhansk team is in 10th place.
In the next round of the Ukrainian Championship, Zorya will play with Minai. Before that, the Luhansk team will play in the Europa League qualification against Slavia on August 24.
