The Ukrainian will play for the Griffins on loan
Ukrainian midfielder of Marseille Ruslan Malinovsky officially moved to Genoa.
The Griffins signed a lease agreement for the Ukrainian until the end of the season with a buyout option. Earlier it was reported that the Italian club will have to pay 10 million euros for a full-fledged midfielder contract.
The Ukrainian was interested in Besiktas, Bologna and Premier League clubs. At the same time, the player had an agreed contract with Torino, but the Bulls could not agree with Marseille on the amount of a possible buyout after the lease.
Malinovsky in January moved to Marseille from Atalanta on loan. In July, the French club activated the option to buy out the Ukrainian’s contract. Ruslan’s contract with Marseille is calculated until the summer of 2026.
Malinovsky played 23 matches for Olimpik in all competitions last season. The Ukrainian scored two goals in them and gave one assist.
Genoa, following the results of last season, achieved promotion to Serie A. In the first round of the new Italian championship draw, the Griffins will host Fiorentina on August 19. The meeting starts at 21:45 Kyiv time.
