Skripnik’s team scored the first points in the championship
Vorskla got an away victory over Veres in the match of the 4th round of the championship of Ukraine with a score of 2:1.
The Poltava team led by two goals in the 18th minute. First, the defender of the hosts Valery Kucherov scored an own goal, and soon Vladlen Yurchenko doubled the advantage. Immediately, Veres, through the efforts of Stanislav Sharay, retook one ball, taking advantage of the guests’ mistake when drawing the ball in his own penalty area.
The final score of the game was established by the middle of the first half. Veres finished the game with ten men – at the end of the meeting, Maxim Marusich was sent off. In stoppage time, the Rivne team managed to level the score, but VAR canceled Nikolay Gaiduchyk’s goal due to offside.
Thanks to this success, Vorskla not only scored the first points in the championship, but also overtook Veres, temporarily rising to 12th place in the table. True, even today the team of Viktor Skrypnyk can be overtaken by Minay or Metallist 1925. At the same time, the Poltava team still has a game in hand.
Both clubs will play their next matches against Chernomorets: Vorskla on 27 August and Veres on 1 September.
