Hammer thrower is the first Ukrainian to qualify at the World Championships in Budapest
Ukrainian hammer thrower Mikhail Kokhan became the first Ukrainian who managed to qualify for the final competition at the World Championships in Athletics in Budapest, Hungary.
The athlete in the qualifying round on the second attempt showed the result of 78.47 meters, overcoming the mark necessary for reaching the final by almost one and a half meters.

Recall that earlier Ukrainian Marina Bekh-Romanchuk did not qualify for the long jump at the world championship. All three attempts were not counted to her, but Ukraine will try to protest the spade in one of them.
The world championship takes place in the capital of Hungary from 19 to 27 August. The national team of Ukraine at the competition is represented by 29 athletes.
