Bayer Leverkusen beat RB Leipzig

Javi Alonso’s side kicked off the season with a win over Champions League entrant

On the starting round German Bundesliga Bayer at home in a match with five goals beat RB Leipzig – 3:2.

Bulls all the way were in the role of catching up. Leverkusen took the lead after goals from Jeremy Frimpong and Jonathan Ta, but even before the break, the guests won back one goal – Dani Olmo scored (the author of the Bayern hat-trick in the Super Cup match).

In the middle of the second half, Florian Wirtz increased the lead, but soon Leipzig newcomer Lois Openda scored in response, closing Mohamed Simakan’s discount.

In a rather open game, last season’s third team had chances to avoid defeat, but Marco Rose’s team did not use them.

In the second round, Javi Alonso’s team will travel to Borussia Mönchengladbach, while Leipzig will host Stuttgart.
