The third medal of the Ukrainian team in the capital of Croatia
Ukrainian athlete Mikhail Svidrak won the bronze Judo Grand Prix in Croatian Zagreb.
The judoka in the category up to 83 kilograms won four fights, but in the semifinal duel he lost to the Brazilian Guilherme Schmidt, the 4th number in the world ranking.
In the fight for the 3rd place, Svidrak was opposed by another representative of the top 10 – the Turks Vedat Albayrak. Nevertheless, it was the Ukrainian underdog who managed to win.
This award was the second for Mikhail at the Grand Prix level. Recall that in May he managed to win the “silver” in the Austrian Linz.
This is the third medal of the Ukrainian team in Zagreb. On the first day of the competition, Dilshot Khalmatov won gold in the category up to 60 kg, and Daria Beloded (up to 57 kg) became a bronze medalist.
The stage of the Grand Prix series in Zagreb will end on Sunday, August 20th.
