UEFA bans Dinamo Zagreb fans from attending the team’s away matches in European competition until the end of the season

Union of European Football Associations (UEFA ) bans Zagreb supporters “Dynamo” attend the team’s away matches in UEFA-sponsored competitions until the end of the 2023/24 season, according to site organizations.

On the eve of the Champions League third qualifying round game between Greek AEK and Dynamo, there was a mass brawl, during which 29-year-old Greek club fan Michalis Katsouris died of a stab wound. The match, scheduled for August 8 in Athens, has been postponed to August 19.

– According to the results of the assessment conducted by UEFA, all matches involving Dynamo fans are classified as high risk. Unfortunately, this was confirmed by the extreme seriousness of the incidents involving the presence of the team’s supporters in Athens, despite the decision not to provide them with tickets for this meeting.

Dynamo, together with the relevant political, public security and football authorities in Croatia, have been tasked with developing and implementing a strategy to eliminate football-related violence. UEFA expects to receive a report from the club shortly detailing the action plan developed to address this serious issue.

Teams visiting Croatia can continue to receive full tickets, and Dynamo and government authorities should take the necessary steps to ensure the safety of visiting supporters, the statement said.

In the knockout round of the Europa League qualification, Dynamo will play with Sparta Prague.
