Chelsea manager believes in Mudrik, but expects a speedy return from him
Head coach Chelsea Mauricio Pochettino shared his opinion about the Ukrainian Mikhail Mudrika after an unsuccessful match against West Ham.
“He played 45 minutes today. I think he is a young player that we need to trust and build a relationship with us and the team.”
“He has tremendous qualities and talent, it’s time for him to better connect with the team and find a way to work the way we expect.”
In both official Chelsea matches under Pochettino, Mudrik appeared off the bench. In the London derby against West Ham (away defeat 1:3), Mikhail played the entire second half, but did not score with effective actions. With the score 1:2, he did not realize a good scoring chance.
The Ukrainian winger moved to Chelsea from Shakhtar Donetsk in January 2023. He made 19 appearances for the Blues (averaging 42 minutes on the field) and provided two assists.
Chelsea are 14th in the Premier League with one point from two rounds. In the next round, Londoners will host Luton on August 25.
