Rukh Technical Director: It turns out that the UPL, instead of protecting the interests of the League, lobbies the interests of Shakhtar and other participants in European competitions

As it turned out, the participants of European competitions can postpone the matches of the championship without the consent of the opponent

Technical Director Rukh Alexander Chaban criticized the regulation UPLaccording to which it is possible to postpone matches with the participation of a representative of Ukraine in European competitions without the consent of the other side.

“The leadership of Dnipro-1 unofficially contacted our club. At first they wanted to move the match from Lviv to Uzhhorod. And when they received a refusal, they decided with the help of the UPL to postpone the match for an indefinite period. According to our information, already on Monday, August 21, the UPL Directorate will decide to postpone this match.”

“Such a norm is indeed spelled out in the regulations. She was promoted by Shakhtar and the leadership of the UPL through surreptitious manipulations. These questions of the regulations, as well as some other norms, were deliberately not submitted for wide discussion by the clubs. The UAF Executive Committee voted and made such decisions, and now many of these nuances are on the surface. The Premier League and its leadership did everything to ensure that this issue was not discussed by the clubs, no one focused on this point. They perfectly understood and realized the absurdity and scandalousness of this norm, but they silently promoted it.”

“First, the leadership of the UPL is obliged to defend the interests of the League as a whole, the Championship, the continuity of the competitive period for clubs. In particular, it was important to talk to the clubs and highlight this issue. Now it turns out that the UPL, instead of protecting the interests of the League, is clearly lobbying the interests of Shakhtar and other participants in European competitions. And internal competition fade into the background. Thus, we believe that the leadership of the UPL is frankly discrediting the interests of the League and most UPL clubs.”

This season, there have already been several transfers of UPL matches with the participation of representatives of European competitions: Vorskla – Dnipro-1 (round 1), Dynamo – Metallist 1925 (round 3), Dynamo – Veres (round 5). Shakhtar will start their European Cup season in September.

Rukh is currently leading the UPL table, Dnipro-1 is in 11th place with four points. Their match was supposed to take place on August 27 on the field of the Lviv club.
