Crawford: Disrespecting Usyk during negotiations is wrong

The world welterweight champion believes that Fury’s side is to blame for the disruption of the fight with the Ukrainian

Undisputed World Welterweight Champion Terence Crawford shared his opinion about the WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO world champion Alexandra Usikas well as the disruption of his fight against the WBC world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.

“Usyk is a great fighter, he has achieved great success in boxing. Disrespecting him during negotiations – I’m pretty sure that’s what it was all about – it’s wrong.

Recall that the unification fight between Usyk and Fury was scheduled for April 2023, but it did not take place. According to the Gypsy King, this happened because of the financial requirements of the Ukrainian.

Previously Usyk signed a contract with Skill Challenge Entertainment from Saudi Arabia. The Ukrainian believes that this cooperation will help organize the fight with Fury. A new potential date for the face-to-face meeting between Tyson and Alexander is January 27, 2024.

Fury’s next fight will be against former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou. The fight is scheduled for October 28 in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.

The battle between Usyk and Dubois will take place on August 26 in Wroclaw, Poland, at the Tarczynski Arena. The championship fight will be shown by the MEGOGO media service.

On the undercard of the Usyk-Dubois fight, WBO International lightweight champion Denis Berinchyk, Dmitry Mitrofanov, Yaroslav Khartsyz, Vasily Chebotar, Fedor Cherkashin, Daniel Lapin and others will enter the ring.
