Dynamo have big problems in the defensive line, especially in the central defenders. This was announced after the match with Chernomorets by the head coach of the Kyiv club, Mircea Lucescu.
The mentor criticized Dyachuk for a mistake against Odessa and said that the club is looking for reinforcements in the transfer market.
“The hardest thing is the mistakes that we made ourselves. Sorry for the emotions, I’m very angry now after the match… It was difficult to move from Bucharest to Odessa, it was difficult to play for two days in the third, but it was without reason – we have to win now.
In the previous match, we played for 120 minutes, so, for example, Yarmolenko, Sidorchuk had a hard time continuing the game, especially in such heat. They asked for a substitution and the players who took the field had to step up and do everything to win. The mistake Dyachuk made was unacceptable. Our central defenders are young, they don’t have enough experience, and they can’t give all the strength on the field that we and the team ask from them.
At the same time, I would like to note that Chernomorets played today, they had a whole week to prepare for this match, unlike us. We dominated in the first half, we had many chances, and in the second half, we also dominated the pitch. The opponent played counterattacks, without positional attacks, and they coped well. I’m not sure, I have to watch the replay, but I think there could still be a penalty against Chernomorets.
Now we are looking for candidates to strengthen the central defense. I still need to talk to the president of the club. Now we are giving opportunities to our young defenders, although objectively they still need a year or two to reach the level that should match Dynamo. We were not very lucky because we lost Popov – he is a very important player for Dynamo, but in two matches we could not count on him. Let’s see what happens next,” said Lucescu after the match.
