Both fighters have moved up in weight class and will make their cruiserweight debut
Former super middleweight world champion Gilberto Ramirez (44-1, 30 KOs) and ex-light heavyweight champion Joe Smith (28-4, 22 KOs) will fight on October 7 in Las Vegas.
The Ramirez-Smith fight will take place in the heavyweight division. For both Gilberto and Joe, this will be their cruiserweight debut.
Ramirez last fought in November 2022, losing to Dmitry Bivol for the WBA light heavyweight title. In March 2023, Gilberto was supposed to fight the American Gabriel Rosado, but the Mexican exceeded the regulated weight and the fight was canceled.
