Zhytomyr club is ready to take on 50% of the payment
As it became known to the Sport Arena, Alexandria refused Polissya in the invitation VAR systems for the match of the fifth round of the Ukrainian Premier League, which is scheduled for August 26 in Alexandria. According to our information, Zhytomyr club was ready to pay 50% of the costs. The reason for this step of Alexandria is unknown.
Recall that according to the “Regulations on the procedure for applying the VAR in the 2023/24 season”, UPL and PFL clubs must send a corresponding application no later than 9 days before the meeting. If a sufficient number of applications have not been received from UPL clubs, the relevant UAF commission independently decides on the appointment of a VAR for UPL matches for which no applications have been received from clubs. At the same time, clubs that play home matches will pay for the application of the VAR system.
Previously, Polissya invited the VAR to all their matches in the UPL. At the same time, for example, in the away match against Dnipro-1 in the second round (1:2), the Zhytomyr club acted according to the same scheme that they proposed to Alexandria – they took on 50% of the costs associated with inviting the VAR system.
After four played rounds of the Ukrainian Championship Oleksandriya, having scored seven points, is in fifth place. Polissya with six points in the asset is in eighth position.
