Bystrov on bullying after transfers to Spartak and Zenit: ‘It’s worth letting go and lowering your head a bit, and the kites will peck at you’

Former Spartak and Zenit footballer Vladimir Bystrov, in an interview with , told how difficult it was for him to survive the persecution of fans after leaving a club in Saint Petersburg for a club in Moscow and vice versa.

Bystrov moved from Zenit to Spartak in 2005 and in 2009 he returned to the Saint Petersburg club.

– Is it morally possible to be prepared for the harassment of fans that you had to endure in both cases?

– It’s hard – not hard, but it’s my way. I had to take care of it. You can break up at any time, but it’s best not to. You have to train and work. Then all these moments can be overcome. It’s worth letting go of the slack and lowering your head a bit, and the kites will peck at you.

Unfortunately, a lot of young players don’t think like that these days. They think, “Come on, I’m young. I’m only 18, two more years ahead of me. They don’t understand that in fact there is no two-year reserve. There is only now. As soon as you think there is tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, you immediately find yourself in a situation where other young people will push you away and haw.

– Conditional Fernandez and Medina have also moved into the camp of the main rivals. Could they even handle what you’ve been through?

– No idea. Fernandez is still from that era. Also, foreigners are different. In Europe, a lot of competition has been created for young people. There isn’t even a week to think about it. They are immediately determined to prove themselves, if not at one club, then at another, Bystrov told .
