This Tuesday, the 22nd, the uefa presented the new version of the official ball of Champions League 2023/24, both for men’s and women’s competition. This season’s models pay homage to the tournament’s anthems, which play in stadiums during the pre-match period.

The male model features the 12 blue stars that make up the ball, set in silver letters that refer to the expression “The Champions”, well known in the competition’s anthem. With visual representations of the musical tones of the lyrics that intersperse the stars in shades of purple, red and blue.

In the female model, the homage to the anthem was even more extensive. Newly created for the 2021/22 season, as a milestone for a new era of women’s competition, the entire lyrics of the song appear on two of the pellet’s panels, creating a unique circular text pattern in orange.

Both balls have technologies to handle the demands of the modern game, performed by German sports supplier Adidas. In addition, the pellets have textures that offer better contact between players and the material, improving performance on the pitch.
