Galatasaray declared the winger Tete for qualifying play-off round matches Champions League 2023/24.
Recall, earlier it became known that Shakhtar filed a complaint with FIFA, demanding to cancel Tete’s transfer to Galatasaray, as well as to punish both the football player and the Turkish club.
According to Shakhtar, the player remains on contract with the Orange-and-Blacks until the end of 2023. Earlier, Turkish insiders reported on the early termination of the contract, however, according to the Donetsk club, this act was illegitimate due to the fact that “Tete returned to Ukraine during the war.”
Last season, Tete played for two clubs on loan. The Brazilian spent the first part of the campaign as part of Lyon (19 matches, 6 goals and 5 assists). In January, the midfielder moved to Leicester, where he played 14 games, scoring one goal.
Galatasaray will face Molde in the play-offs of the Champions League qualification. The first meeting will take place in Norway on 23 August. The return match will take place in Turkey on 29 August.
