The State Bureau of Investigation reported on the disclosure of a fictitious system of enlistment for military service.

The State Bureau of Investigation reported the discovery in the Ivano-Frankivsk region of a fictitious registration scheme for military service with the participation of a football club. In particular, it is alleged that relatives of the city leadership and players of the local professional team were illegally conscripted into the army.

Thanks to the scheme, the participants in the case got the opportunity not to serve in the military, in fact, avoiding mobilization. In addition, they received monetary and material support from the state budget.

Note that the only professional football club in Ivano-Frankivsk is Prykarpattya, which plays in the First League.

It was noted that during the investigation, about 30 searches were conducted in the Ivano-Frankivsk region. An investigation has been launched under the article “exceeding power or official powers by a military official committed under martial law.”

In the Carpathian region, they have already responded to reprimands from the SBI. The club released a statement expressing its disapproval of the actions of law enforcement officials.

“Yes, they served and serve: both football players and coaches go to the outfits. The initiative was TCC and the joint venture with IFC Prykarpattya, and it was announced to the public in April 2022.

Since then, the unit has been demobilized and stopped cooperating with the club. Some of them serve and participate in the life of the Prykarpattya-UAF team.

We are waiting for an objective investigation!” the statement on the club’s website reads.

Recall that at the beginning of the full invasion, Prykarpattya announced that 14 players and coaches of the team joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
