The Serbian specialist is dissatisfied with the personnel situation and his own results, but wishes Zara and the people of Ukraine all the best
Head coach Zari Nenad Lalatovich commented on his team’s draw against Minaya and made a big statement.
“Congratulations to both teams on the game. It was very difficult to play in such heat. It was very difficult for us after Slavia, because there were moves from the Czech Republic to Poland, from Poland to the Czech Republic, to Slovakia, then home. We didn’t manage to train yesterday even because the Avangard stadium was booked.”
“The club decided to sell Rusin at a difficult time for the team. Many players left the team, Butko and Danchenko were injured, Rusin, I repeat, was sold. These four players are not enough for Zorya to be at least at the same level as before.
“The team needs more fast players: two players in the center of the field, also in defense. So that we can play more attacking football like they play in Europe. We in Poland during the preparatory cycle had 13-14 players at our disposal. But I still had expectations. I was expecting something from myself. I really like the Ukrainian championship and Ukraine in general. I didn’t come here for money, I wanted to be close to Ukraine, with its people.”
“I’m sure if we had 20 players at the beginning of the training camp, if we had the players I wanted to see, we would be better prepared for the championship. Out of five matches, two draws, two defeats, one victory.
“Probably, I will leave Ukrainian football, I will need to talk with the president. When I came here, I didn’t come for the money. I love Ukraine, the Ukrainian people, I will be with you to the end. I don’t regret coming here. I want to show that I am a big person, so I refuse three salaries, compensation and go home. Thank you all.”
“I came to Ukraine because I was always with Ukraine. So it will continue. I am with your people. I wish you smiles like you had before.”
“Thank you all again, unfortunately, I will be leaving Ukraine. At first I was sure that I could achieve better results here, but it is already the way it is. I did not come for the money, so I will not demand all the obligations that the club has to me under the contract. I am also dissatisfied with the result, so let the club look for a new coach. Or maybe I’ll find a new team in Ukraine.”
Recall that in the fifth round Zorya played a draw with Minai (1:1) and is in 10th place with five points. Earlier, Lalatovic’s team lost 0:2 to Slavia in Prague.
The Luhansk club will meet with Slavia in the second leg of the Lili Europa qualifier play-off on August 31. The game will take place in Lublin, Poland.
