Minaya’s coach notes the progress after the last match, is pleased with the team’s actions in attack, but complains about the lack of implementation
Head coach Minaya Vladimir Sharan commented on his team’s home draw against Dawn in the fifth round Ukrainian Premier League.
“Compared to the match in Kyiv against Metalist 1925, I personally liked the game. I think the audience too. I can’t say that we closed in this match. We constantly tried to meet the opponent in the middle zone and cover the players in the initial phase of attacks, not to let them play the ball.
“We understood that the team that would have a lot of possession of the ball would be physically difficult. I am pleased with the actions of my wards. We talked to them, set them up to win. Despite the fact that they played against Zorya. Dawn or not Dawn, but we need to tune in to win in every match in order to improve the standings.”
“Like with Metalist 1925, we had moments that we created, but did not realize. Only a penalty equalized the score. There were many chances, many shots from us. It’s interesting to look at the statistics, I don’t remember that we played so aggressively and scored only one goal. This is an indication that there is a lack of skill.”
“But overall we are happy with the game. There were swings, they could win, they could lose”
Recall that Minay played with Zorya in a draw 1:1, winning back in the first half. After five rounds, Transcarpathians with two points are on the penultimate place. In the next match, Sharan’s team will play with Shakhtar on September 2.
