Blaugrana missed three times after two “dry” first rounds
Barcelona on the road got a strong-willed victory over Villarreal in the scoring match of the 3rd round Spanish Championship – 4:3.
The Catalans scored twice already in the first quarter of an hour – Gavi and Frenkie de Jong did it. However, the Yellow Submarine was able to recoup until the end of the half by the efforts of legionnaires Juan Foyt and Alexander Serlot.
At the beginning of the second half, the hosts even took the lead – Alex Baena scored. However, the favorite answered with a doublet in the middle of the half. First, freshly released Ferran Torres scored, and three minutes later Robert Lewandowski scored the winning goal.
The victory allowed Barcelona to overtake Girona and move up to third place. Valencia and Rayo Vallecano can bypass the Blue Garnet on the basis of the tour. Villarreal, having lost both home matches of the new season, falls into the bottom half of the standings with three points.
