Sailors call on UAF for reforms
Chernomorets published an official statement criticized the arbitration system in Ukrainian football and called for radical action.
The Odessa club emphasized that during a full-scale military invasion of Russia into Ukraine, our defenders need positive emotions, but due to a number of decisions of the arbitrators, this is impossible. The full statement of Chernomorets can be read Here.
“It’s time to face the truth: the system of football refereeing in Ukraine does not stand up to any criticism”.
“On what basis do we appoint referees for this or that match? Why does the VAR system in Ukraine still not cover all the matches of the tour that are played over three days? How are VAR arbitrators appointed and trained? Sometimes it seems that there are world years between our VAR and the European one. When will our judges start talking? There are scoring errors in every round. Who is responsible for them and how?
“If the leadership of the judiciary has the answers to these questions, the reform of judicial cleaning and the global retraining of arbitrators can begin. And there should be no doubt that it needs to be started.”
“Judges, look at your colleagues from Poland and Romania! They cater for Champions League and World Cup matches. Aren’t you tired of being “heroes” of the same journalistic materials? Just think about it – if our refereeing team just did their job with high quality, then this is already an event of the tour!”
Chernomorets lost to Vorskla 1:2 in the last round of the UPL. The sailors conceded twice before the break, at the beginning of the second half they won back one goal, but there were not enough guests for more.
After the meeting, the coach of the Odessa club Roman Grigorchuk sharply criticized both the work of the referees of the game with Vorskla and the work of the UAF refereeing corps.
Odessans with 9 points take the fourth place in the championship. On September 1, Grigorchuk’s team will play away against the outsider Veres.
