Mladen Bartulovich will be the interim mentor of the Luhansk team
new mentor Dawn will become a Ukrainian specialist Valery Kriventsov.
The coach will officially take over the leadership of the team during the international pause associated with the matches of the national teams. Until this period, Croatian Mladen Bartulovich will be the acting head coach of the club.
Kriventsov was considered as a potential option for the coach position back in June, but then Zorya’s management chose Serb Nenad Lalatovich. After an unsuccessful start to the season, Lalatovich announced his departure from the Luhansk club.
In 2020, Kriventsov headed Metallist 1925. Under his leadership, the team reached the elite division in 2021, but in October last year, the Kharkiv club terminated the agreement with the head coach.
Zorya in the fifth round tied with Minay (1:1) and is in 10th place with five points. Under the leadership of Lalatovic, Zorya lost 0:2 to local Slavia in the first playoff match of the Europa League qualification in Prague.
The Lugansk club will meet with Slavia in the second leg of the Europa League qualification play-off on August 31. The game will take place in Lublin, Poland.
