“Doctors say it takes time. You may have to go back to the hospital again ”- Gavrilov about rehabilitation after a stroke

Bronze medalist at the 1980 Olympics, former Spartak player Yuri Gavrilov spoke to about his condition, adding that he may need to be hospitalized again.

Gavrilov was hospitalized on May 30 after a stroke and underwent surgery. On June 25, the ex-footballer was discharged from the hospital and transferred to a rehabilitation center in Nekrasovka, from where he was later transferred to the Brain Institute, from where he was discharged on August 7.

I continue the treatment. I was temporarily allowed to go home. They said that after three months in the hospital, I had to stay home. Lots of drugs, various injections, pills, droppers every day. They said we had to take a short break – one and a half to two months.

Am I feeling better? But how can I say… It’s difficult for me to speak. The doctors gave me recommendations for further treatment, arm exercises, which still don’t work for me. I do everything at home. Well, I don’t know how it’s going to be.

Doctors say it takes time and everyone has a different healing process. This is due to the individual characteristics of the organism. It is possible that then it will be necessary to go to bed somewhere. It’s a long process,” Gavrilov told .

Gavrilov played for Spartak in 1977-85 and turned 70 on May 3.
