Dominican Republic finished first in Group A ahead of Italy
Today, August 29, the first matches of the 3rd round of the preliminary round took place 2023 FIBA World Championship. The championship takes place in Japan, Indonesia and the Philippines.
The Dominican Republic secured their third win of the tournament by beating Angola to take first place in Group A. Italy were second.
The first success in the tournament was celebrated by France, which beat Lebanon not without problems – 85:79. The French will continue to play in the tournament for 17-32nd places in the world championship.
The winner of Group H was determined in a face-to-face confrontation between Canada and Latvia. The Canadian team got the victory with a score of 101:75.
The Dominican Republic, Italy, Lithuania, Montenegro, Germany, Australia, Canada, Latvia, the USA and Spain have already qualified for the main round of the World Cup.
The game day of Wednesday, August 30, will begin with the duels Georgia – Venezuela and South Sudan – Serbia at 11:00 am Kyiv time.
