Onana returned to the Cameroon national team

In December, the goalkeeper announced the end of his international career after the scandal at the 2022 World Cup.

Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana returned to the team Cameroon. The goalkeeper was included in the squad for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Burundi.

Recall that in December, Onana announced his retirement from the Cameroon national team. The goalkeeper left the national team at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar after an altercation with head coach Rigobert Song.

Onana has been playing for the Cameroon national team since 2016. The 27-year-old goalkeeper has played 34 matches for the national team in all competitions.

Cameroon is in second place in Group C of the CAN 2023 qualifiers. The match with Burundi, after which two tickets from the group to the final tournament will be determined, will take place on September 12. The main competitions of CAN-2023 will be held from January 13 to February 11, 2024 in Côte d’Ivoire.
