Elections will be held on September 7
CEO Miner Sergey Palkin put forward his candidacy for the position of board member European Club Association (ECA).
The functionary published his program for the development of football in Europe, consisting of four key points. At the heart of the program is shared responsibility, the ECA should become the collective voice of the clubs that consistently compete in European competition.
Palkin also proposes to form a comprehensive sports strategy for competitions in Europe in the face of growing competition from leagues outside of it. Shakhtar’s CEO wants to change the solidarity payment system in favor of leagues that operate in unfavorable economic models. Palkin also plans to make a large set of analytical data available to all ECA members.
Elections to the ECA will be held on 7 September. The term of office of the next convocation of members of the Board is from 2023 to 2027.
