Turkish “Galatasaray” advanced to group stage Champions League 2023/24 season.
In the second leg of the qualifying round of the playoffs, the Turks beat Norway’s “Molde” 2:1 at home. Scored a goal for the hosts Mauro Icardi (6th minute) and Angelino (90+3), guests – Eirik Hestad (66th).
Moreover, the Norwegians scored the second goal at the end of the second half which could have taken the showdown into extra time, but the goal was ruled out after a VAR prompt for offside. And so, in total of two matches, Galatasaray went further, winning the first encounter with the score 3:2.
In addition, Portuguese Braga and Swiss Young Boys made their way to the Champions League group stage, which in two games overtook Greek Panathinaikos and Israeli Maccabi (Haifa) respectively.
