Nigmatullin: Leapfrog with goalkeepers is a problem for all of Spartak

Former Russian national team goalkeeper Rouslan Nigmatulline considers that the absence of a main guardian “Spartacus” not good for the team.

This season, the Red-White goalkeepers were defended by three goalkeepers – Alexander Selikhov, Alexander Maksimenko and Ilya Svinov. On Tuesday, Spartak beat Dynamo at home in the Russian Cup 4:1.

– Does Spartak have a problem with the fact that even after the starting period the club did not choose the main goalkeeper? Selikhov, who played last season, came out in a final match with Akhmat, before either Svinov or Maksimenko entered the pitch.

– This is an extremely bad situation for the goalkeepers, because they will all play unstable and understand that after each mistake they will be in the reserve, because there are two guys waiting there.

This is based on personal experience, as I have seen many such situations. For example, when I was at Spartak and competing with Filimonov. The leapfrog with the goalkeepers is a problem for both the whole team and the goalkeepers, because the main goalkeeper has to wake up as the main, go to breakfast as the main, going to the sauna as the main – this is psychology. A good, confident goalkeeper is a psychologically well-prepared person,” Nigmatullin told Metaratings.ru.

Last season, only Selikhov (28 matches) and Maksimenko (14 matches) played for Spartak.
