Pegula: Svitolina still moves well and plays more aggressively

Ukrainian lost to the third racket of the world at the US Open-2023

American world number three Jessica Pegula commented on the victory over the Ukrainian Elina Svitolina in the third round US Open 2023.

“It felt like the first two sets were both ups and downs on both sides. I think I played a little better in the first set, she played a little better in the second set. I don’t think we played at the highest level, it was hard to find the rhythm.”

“It seems to me that she plays maybe a little more aggressively, more often uses a right hand. Svitolina still moves very well, plays her game, although at the same time she becomes a little more aggressive at certain moments.”

Svitolina lost to world number three Jessica Pegula at US Open 2023. The Ukrainian exchanged victories in sets with the American, but eventually lost in the decisive game.

There are no more Ukrainian tennis players left in the US Open-2023 singles. The struggle is continued by Marta Kostyuk, who reached the 1/8 finals of the doubles competition.
