The Brazilian will sign a five-year contract with the Italian club
Midfielder of Shakhtar Marcos Antonio said goodbye to the Donetsk club.
The player posted a post on social networks, where he thanked Shakhtar for three years of cooperation. The Brazilian also stressed that Shakhtar is part of his life story.
“Farewell is never easy, but for one cycle to begin, another must end. Today I say goodbye to Shakhtar. I wore the shirt of this club for three years and I just have to thank Shakhtar for everything. You are part of my history,” wrote the Brazilian.
“Thank you everyone. Also thanks to the Ukrainians who received me so well. Now I will go to new challenges, but I will not forget everything that I lived with Shakhtar.”
In the near future, Marcos will become a Lazio player. The Romans will pay the Pitmen 10 million euros for the transfer of Antonio: eight million will be paid in a fixed payment, another two million will be bonus payments in case of a successful performance by the player.
Marcos’ contract with the Roman club will be for five years. In Lazio, the Brazilian will earn 900 thousand euros per season plus bonuses.
Antonio has been playing for Shakhtar since February 2019. As part of the Pitmen, he played 101 matches, scored nine goals and gave five assists.
Lazio finished the season in fifth place in Serie A and qualified for the Europa League. Shakhtar took the first position in the UPL and will play in the group stage of the Champions League.
