Petr Cech to step down as Chelsea technical adviser on June 30

He has held this position since the summer of 2019.

Legend Chelsea Petr Cech leaves office technical adviser London Club on 30 June. The former goalkeeper expressed his confidence that the club would succeed under new owner Todd Boely.

“It has been a great honor for me to play this role at Chelsea for the past three years. Since the club has a new owner, I feel that now is the right time to step aside. I am delighted that the club is now in a great position with new owners and I am confident in its future success both on and off the field,” said Cech.

Čech played 333 matches for the London club between 2004 and 2015. Together with the Blues, the Czech goalkeeper won the Premier League four times, and also won the Champions League in 2012. In the summer of 2019, Petr became Chelsea’s technical adviser.

Earlier, Chelsea confirmed the departure of Marina Granovskaya from the post of director of the club. She left Stamford Bridge following Blues chairman Bruce Buck.

In May, a consortium led by Boeli paid more than $5 billion for Chelsea, including guarantees of future investment in the club. Former Sinykh owner Roman Abramovich was forced to sell the club due to sanctions imposed on the oligarch due to his ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin amid the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Chelsea finished third in the Premier League last season and will play in the group stage of the Champions League.
