Renato Paiva leaves Bahia coach; understand

Renato Paiva resigned and is no longer the coach of the bahia. Last Wednesday night, the 6th, Tricolor de Aço announced the departure of the coach, hired in December of last year to lead the team.

Despite the title of the Bahia Championship, Paiva lived moments of turbulence with the fans of Bahia, since the defeats by 3 to 0 against Strength and by 6 to 0 for the sportfor the Northeast Cup, and now, facing the bad phase in the Brazilian Championship.

According to information from “Globo Esporte”, Paiva’s resignation took the club’s directors by surprise. The coach announced the decision on Wednesday, and members of his coaching staff and the defender Kanu were against the departure of the commander.

In a statement, Paiva stated that he carries “good stories, joys, but also a certain sadness” in his time at the club. The “GE” says that the professional was upset at being harassed by fans.

In football, we are subject to praise and criticism, which is normal, it’s part of the game. What I do not accept is lack of respect for human beings”, says an excerpt from Renato Paiva’s note.

“Although the Bahia SAF board and the team captains, Kanu and Thaciano, took a stand against his decision, coach Renato Paiva resigned this Wednesday night (09/06) and no longer commands the Squadron. In his passage, he won the Bahian title this year and took the team to the quarterfinals of the Copa do Brasil, which had not happened since 2019. He leaves the club in 16th place in the Brazilian Championship and takes with him good stories, joys, but also a some hurt.

Bahia is a passionate club, with a huge and passionate crowd. But that also passes the point like any other. Unfortunately, we had to assemble the squad with the competitions in progress, more than 20 reinforcements arrived during the season, and it’s not overnight that a great team forms. It takes time. I am grateful for the opportunity that Grupo City gave me to command one of the heaviest shirts in Brazilian football.”
