Criscito: “I would have stayed at Genoa and B. But the club only wanted me to be a coach”

“The day before yesterday ended a relationship that, given the debut in 2003, began 19 years ago. This is a whole life. I was lucky to represent these colors: I think Genoa is the most beautiful and important club in Italy”: it starts like this, with columns Il Secolo XIX – Genoa, current former Genoa captain Domenico Criscito close to landing in Toronto.

Just goodbye:”After Naples, I said that I would also like to stay in Serie B, and I also said that marriages are made for two.. But the company sums up and has a project, and I did not participate in this project. At this point, there were two possibilities: either I will leave and the company was fantastic in this because they immediately gave me the opportunity to stay by telling me: “Mimmo, if you like, we can let you join the company.” But I still want to play, so I had to do it elsewhere. In Italy I had opportunities, even in B.. But to fight against the team that is in my heart, which has always been my team, was not right. So I took the opportunity to go to Toronto. Many people say that I chose on an economic basis, but this is not true, the salary is not higher than that which I took in Genoa. The choice was made together with the club, we both agreed and I just have to say thank you to Genoa for that. It gave me a choice. As they wrote in the club, the termination occurred by mutual agreement. Together we decided that when I return, I will have the opportunity to join the company.. And for that I have to thank Andres Blasques and the new club.”
