Verdão coach won an award promoted by the highest professional football entity in Portugal, in a ceremony held this last Thursday, 7th, in Porto
The Portuguese coach Abel Ferreira received a tribute with the “Merit of Liga Portugal” award, during a ceremony held this past Thursday, 7th, in Harborin the first edition of Liga Portugal Awardsorganized by the highest football entity in the European country.
Abel won the award, which was judged by some of the professionals from Portuguese League. The coach had as competitors all Portuguese people who work and excel in football outside the country.
“First of all, on behalf of the Association, I congratulate Abel for the enormous work he has done and for Portuguese football. It’s a good thing that the Portuguese coaches discovered Brazil, first with Jesus and now with Abel and the achievements they have had. Just thank him for what he has done for the Portuguese coaches”he said Domingos Patiencevice president of National Football Coaches Association.
At the Brazil since the end of 2020, Abel Ferreira has already won eight titles at the helm of palm trees: Conmebol Libertadores (2020 and 2021); Paulista championship (2022 and 2023); Brazil’s Cup (2020); South American Recopa (2022); Brazilian championship (2022) and Brazilian Super Cup (2023).
