Rukh U-19 will play a home match of the UEFA Youth League against Sarajevo in Poland

First round fights are scheduled for October 4 and 25

Rukh U-19 home match against Sarajevo in the first round UEFA Youth League will be held in the Polish city of Staleva Wola.

“Rukh U-19 will play their home game in Stalowa Wola. We played there last season of the UEFA Youth League and declared the local stadium as our home ground. We have already been in contact with the management of the stadium, and they noted that the surface there had recently been replaced – a new lawn was laid,” said Rukh’s technical director Alexander Chaban.

“The return match will take place in Sarajevo at the Asim Ferhatovic Hase Olympic Stadium. This is the arena of the main team, but the opponent is serious about the game and expects a large number of fans. There was even talk about choosing a time more convenient for spectators for the match, so that people could go to the football after work.”

“We will now begin to study the best way to get to Bosnia and Herzegovina and where to stay in Sarajevo. We will also decide when to arrive there so that the team is better prepared for the game. This decision will be made directly by the coaching staff. We should give credit to FC Sarajevo – they are ready to provide us with training fields and tell us where it’s best to stay.”

The base dates for the matches between Ruhov and Sarajevo are October 4 and 25. The winner of the match will play in the next round with the best team of the Famalican (Portugal) – Midtjylland (Denmark) pair.

Last season, the Rukha youth team reached the 1/8 finals of the continental club tournament, where they lost to their peers from Milan with a minimal score. The documentary film “This Dream” was dedicated to this historical voyage against the backdrop of a full-scale war.

Shakhtar will also play in the UEFA Youth League 2023/24 from Ukraine. The Miners’ team, like the club’s main team, was in a group with Barcelona, Porto and Antwerp. She will begin her tournament journey on September 19-20.
