Former Corinthians coach, Sylvinho has been leading the Albanian national team in the team’s historic campaign, which is at the top of its group in the Euro qualifiers.
Amidst several teams that are standing out in the qualifying competition for the 2024 Euro Cup, the biggest surprise is the Albania, leader of group E of the competition. After five rounds, the team is having a historic campaign, led by the former coachCorinthians, Sylvinhowho spoke about the moment after the victory over Poland.
“I congratulated all the players, both those who started the match, those who entered or those who couldn’t play, but dedicated themselves to training. We built a strong team that plays with heart and soul and we deserve it. In the end, I told them it’s not over yet. We have three finals to go and we have to continue like this”, he stated.
So far there have been five games played, with three wins, one defeat and a draw, taking the lead in a group that had Czechia as main favourite. In addition to them, Poland, the Moldavia and the Faroe Islandswhich occupy the lantern.
After the historic victory, the Brazilian thanked the fans for their support: “I would like to pay tribute to all the fans who were at the stadium. They were just wonderful for creating a fantastic environment for us and it helped us a lot. It was a victory for the entire Albanian people. We deserve the result.“
It had been 70 years since Albania had such a positive result against the Poles, who had Lewandowski on the field, but they were unable to avoid defeat. Next October, the team will meet for another match, which will be against Czechia, taking first place in the group.
