Athletistic/Football. The chairman of the board of directors of Lokomotiv Moscow, Yuri Nagornykh, spoke about the plan to form a second team.
“At the last board meeting we discussed the topic of creating a system and building a vertical from the academy to the main team. One of the steps between the youth team and the main team is that same, basically, second team, where young athletes could hone their skills. When guys leave youth, most need two to three years to develop their skills to the adult level. there are a few who become exceptions, like Pinyaev or Saltykov, but they are few in number.
What type of team it will be has not yet been decided. We agreed to discuss this issue with specialists in September-October and make the right decision.
When should the team be created? Probably within the next year,” Nagornykh was quoted as saying by Match TV.
