Bayern is ready to release Nagelsmann to the German national team without compensation

The ex-mentor of the Munich team is one of the main contenders for the vacant position in the national team

German Football Association (DFB) continues to search for a new head coach after the dismissal of Hans-Dieter Flick. One of the main candidates for the vacant post is an ex-mentor Bayern Julian Nagelsmann.

The DFB has not yet contacted either Nagelsmann or Bayern, as the coach is still under contract with Munich until 2026.

The Bayern leadership understands that the DFB will not be able to pay compensation for the coach. Therefore, the Munich team are ready to let Nagelsmann join the German national team for free in order to free themselves from paying the former coach a salary.

In March 2023, Nagelsmann left his post as head coach of Bayern. He has led the Munich team since the summer of 2021, under his leadership the team became the Bundesliga champion and twice triumphed in the German Super Cup.

The German national team has lost 4 of its last 5 matches. Today the Germans will play a friendly match with France (starts at 22:00 Kyiv time).
