The midfielder faces a four-year ban for doping
Juventus is considering the option of terminating the contract with the midfielder Paul Pogba.
The current agreement between the Frenchman and the Turinese is valid until 2026. In the event of a long-term ban for the midfielder, the Turin team intend to use the opportunity to unload the salary sheet – Pogba earns 10 million euros a year.
Earlier, the National Anti-Doping Tribunal of Italy reported that testosterone metabolites of non-endogenous origin were found in Pogba’s sample. The Frenchman passed a doping test after the match of the 1st round of Serie A against Udinese (3:0), in which the midfielder did not enter the field. It was reported that the midfielder took the banned substance on the advice of his doctor friend, who purchased the drug in the United States.
Paul risks receiving a maximum penalty of disqualification for 4 years. The Turin club has already announced the temporary suspension of the midfielder.
Pogba has played two matches for Juventus this season. Due to injuries, the midfielder missed most of the last campaign.
Juventus has 7 points from its three opening Serie A matches. On September 16, the Old Lady will host Lazio.
