Yuriy Benyo’s contract with Dnepr-1 ends in June
Yuriy Benyo, assistant coach of Dnipro-1 Igor Jovichevich, answered questions about the possible transition of the Croat to Shakhtar.
Today there was information that Jovićević and the coaching staff left the Dnipro club amid rumors about an appointment to the Donetsk club.
According to Beno himself, his contract with Dnepr-1 continues to be valid until the end of June.
— Are you still working in Dnepr-1?
While I’m working.
— When does your contract expire?
The agreement is valid until the end of this month.
– And then what?
– So far, nothing is clear. We ourselves are waiting for some decision on this situation.
— How real are the rumors that Jovićević may head Shakhtar in the near future?
– Now I am not ready to comment on this information.
Beno has been working with Dnipro-1 since September 2020, when Jovicevich took over the team. Under the latter’s leadership, the team finished third last season in the Premier League.
Shakhtar’s official head coach remains Roberto De Zerbi, who has been linked with a move to Galatasaray and Bologna since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.
