According to Bild, the priority candidate to replace Tuchel is current Bayer Leverkusen head coach Xabi Alonso. The management of the flagship of German football highly appreciates the abilities and progress of the Spanish specialist in the “pharmacist” camp.
Xabi Alonso has been working with Bayer Leverkusen since the fall of 2022. His contract with Leverkusen runs until June 30, 2026.
