Athletistic/ Football. Danish defender Andreas Christensen has posted a farewell message on social media on his departure from London Chelsea, for whom he had played since 2012.

“Thank you for everything. At the age of 16 I had to make the difficult decision to leave Denmark. I had only one choice and that was Chelsea. From the moment I arrived I felt at home . I was a boy at Chelsea” , with all the hopes and fears of a player starting his career and I am grateful to the whole club for making my dream come true. After spending 10 wonderful years at this club, I felt it was the right time for me for a new stage and my family. I miss the players, the staff and everyone here. I wish the club and the fans all the best in the future,” Christensen wrote on the social network.

Andreas played for the Chelsea youth team from 2012 to 2014. He made his senior debut in the 2014/2015 season: on October 28, 2014, Christensen played the full 90 minutes at right-back in the game of 4th round of the EFL Cup against Shrewsbury Town, which Chelsea won by 2:1.

From 2015 to 2017, the Dane played on loan at Borussia Mönchengladbach, and since 2017 he became a Chelsea first-team player. Because of Christensen – 161 appearances, 2 goals and 2 assists for the London club in all competitions. He is the winner of the UEFA Europa League (2018/2019), the UEFA Champions League (2020/2021), the UEFA Super Cup (2021) and the Club World Cup (2021). Earlier it was reported that Andreas as a free agent will join Catalan ‘Barcelona’, but this transfer has not yet received official confirmation.
