Vorskla defender talks about recovery from injury and getting in shape
Defender of Poltava Vorskla Viktor Kornienko commented on his team’s away match against Dynamo Kyiv, and also told how the process of getting in shape is going.
— The away defeat to Dynamo is not the best result of the meeting. What do you think about the match and its result?
– This is Dynamo, it’s always difficult to play with them. We wanted to fulfill our game plan, but… Some things worked out, some things didn’t.
– Start match was difficult for Vorskls: the Kiev team scored a goal and created many more chances at Isenko’s goal…
— I can say that Dynamo and Shakhtar are the giants of Ukrainian football. When facing these clubs, it is difficult to create chances at the opponent’s goal.
— Last season you missed a lot due to injury and further recovery. What is your physical condition now?
“I’m gradually gaining strength, although it’s still hard.” For me this was the third match this season. It’s still difficult to hold a meeting for 90 minutes, but 50-60 minutes is quite enough.
— What do you think the current Vorskla squad can hope for in the UPL?
– We have a good team. We must always strive to show our football and victories will not escape us.
