Kevin made his debut in the Champions League with a goal scored
Forward Miner Kevin Kelsey commented on Porto’s defeat in the opening match of the group stage of the Champions League (1:3).
“The Champions League is a very difficult tournament. I am glad to make my debut in the most prestigious club tournament in Europe. Unfortunately, we did not manage to win, but there are still five matches ahead, so we need to prepare as best as possible.
“I’m glad I scored, but I’m not happy with my personal moments, I lost a few chances. In the Champions League you need to maintain maximum concentration and pay attention to detail. This was not enough for us.”
Kelsey made his debut for Shakhtar in the main draw of the Champions League in a game with Porto. At the same time, the forward set a new club record, becoming the youngest player in Shakhtar history to score a goal in the main stage of the Champions League.
Shakhtar started the group stage of the Champions League with a defeat (1:3). On October 4, Patrick van Leeuwen’s team will play against Antwerp.
