Ex-‘Spartak’ player believes that the club’s players could ‘crony up’ and save the second team

Former Moscow striker “Spartacus” Georgy Melkadze believes that the costs of the second team of “red-whites” were not impressive enough to close it.

“Spartak-2” was created in 2013. In the last season of the FNL Olympia Championship, the team finished on the 7th line. On May 23, the leadership of the “red-whites” announced the closure of the project.

– Spartak has an unusual tendency associated with pupils. You left six months ago, now Bakaev, and disbanded Spartak-2. It’s bad?

It’s normal for people to leave. This is the life of football. But closing Spartak-2 is a mistake. Because it didn’t take a lot of money for the existence of the team. If you take the salary of the big players, it’s probably 5-10% of their annual income. In theory, they could even participate and save the team. I didn’t understand this solution at all. There are a lot of Spartak-2 people playing in the Premier League. So of course it’s surprising,” Melkadze said in an interview with RB Sport.
