After an episode of fight with a fan, Marcos Braz, vice-president of Flamengo, gave more details about the case at a press conference: “You saw the ending”
This Thursday, 21st, Marcos Brazvice president of football at Flamengo, held a press conference to explain a little more about Mengão’s most recent controversy, the fight between the manager and a fan. In detail, he told parts of the story that had not been broadcast and that, apparently, did not include remembered images.
Braz explained the reason that took him to the mall: his daughter’s birthday, who turned 15 years old. So, the vice-president went to meet her and buy a gift, precisely in the store where he was spotted by the Flamengo fan, and some images were circulated on the day of the event, last Tuesday, the 19th.
“He arrives and starts threatening. This time differently. So much so that in the recordings that these two or three made, I don’t appear talking about my daughter or arguing with them. For this guy, and my daughter was by his side (she will also appear in the filming)”, said Marcos Braz.
After saying more than once that he was together with his daughter, the Flamengo leader became irritated by the fan’s words and, from that moment on, the attacks took place in the shopping mall corridor. “The last sentence: ‘Fuck your daughter’. You saw the ending. I have the problem there. The facts were posted quickly. It looks like they did the math: 40 seconds. I need to address the topic”he said.
After the confusion, Marcos Braz returns to the store where he was buying the gift for his daughter and, afterwards, the door is closed for the vice president’s safety. However, he denied that he was with private professionals at the mall. “I’m not going to my car because I don’t have security and he wasn’t close. Because I’m not safe and Flamengo doesn’t give me safety, I’m going back to the store”, said.
Finally, the manager admitted his mistake and apologized for what happened. “I apologize for the inconvenience I caused. I apologize to my peers on the board and to the Flamengo fans. I apologize for not having prepared myself to be threatened by fans in front of my daughter. I have three journalists who beat me well because I’m used to it. I can’t have a systemic situation with my daughter”, concluded the vice president.
