Svyat hopes to help Ukraine reach the World Cup
Toronto quarterback Svyatoslav Mikhailyuk expects to play in all three matches national team of Ukraine in July.
In the period July 1-7, the Ukrainian national team will play against Georgia, North Macedonia and Spain in the 2023 World Cup qualification. Mykhailyuk arrived at the location of the national team the day before yesterday.
“Believe me, I am always ready to come to the Ukrainian national team: these are my sports and social obligations to the basketball school that raised me, to Ukraine, where I grew up. Especially now, when our country needs support and unity more than ever. I am glad to be with the team,” Mikhailyuk said.
“Another motive for coming was the tournament situation. We have good chances to go to the World Cup for the second time, we need to do it. It is likely that I will play in all three matches. It is important that health allows.
In the next qualifying match for the World Cup, Ukraine will play with Georgia on Friday, July 1. Nominally, the Ukrainian team will play the home match in Riga.
