Sir Alex Ferguson tops the list
Legendary trainer Valery Lobanovsky entered top 10 best trainers in the world according to FourFourTwo.
“Maiter” took 10th place in the overall rating of coaches. The list was topped by legendary Manchester United coach Sir Alex Ferguson.
“In 1972, Lobanovsky teamed up with Professor Anatoly Zelentsov and began to pore over endless statistical streams. “All life,” said Lobanovsky, “is a number.”
“Demanding “versatility” from his players – including Oleg Blokhin, Igor Belanov and Andrey Shevchenko – Lobanovsky’s 30 trophies won made him the most decorated manager of the 20th century,” FourFourTwo added.
Interestingly, 87th place on the list was taken by the current head coach of Dynamo Kyiv Mircea Lucescu.
Let us remind you that under the leadership of Lobanovsky, Dynamo became the champion of the Soviet Union eight times, won the USSR Cup six times, took gold in the Ukrainian Championship five times (three times – the National Cup) and won the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup twice, among other things.
Valery Lobanovsky died on May 13, 2002.
