The midfielder played in the English League Cup this season, but did not take to the field in the English Championship
Ukrainian defender Egor Yarmolyuk said that he is determined to gain a foothold in the first team Brentford.
“I worked hard and got what I have, so I’m very happy. I’m in the first team now and I really want to be here. There were no discussions or thoughts about renting. The fact that I am included in every away game and in the squad for every home match is a great experience for me. I look forward to my debut every match. We’ll wait: when the coach decides, then I’ll go out.”
“I will play where the coach sees me, how he puts me, that’s how I will play. I play in the center of the field, I can play as number 6, 8 and 10. In general, I can play in any position.”
“I expect to get as many minutes as possible in the Premier League after my debut and I want to help the team with my performances on the pitch. We will develop together, trying to take the highest place possible and fight in cups.”
“We have not yet communicated with Sergei Rebrov. “In my understanding, when I start playing in the first team in the English Premier League, then I will have a chance to get a call and play in the main team of Ukraine.”
In the summer of 2022, Egor moved to Brentford. The English club paid 1.6 million euros for the Ukrainian. At first, Egor played for the reserve team.
The 19-year-old footballer was promoted to the Brentford first team this summer. Yarmolyuk is regularly included in the squad for English Premier League matches, but has not yet made his debut in this tournament. This season he has played one match for the Bees in the English League Cup.
Brentford have 6 points from six Premier League rounds and are in 13th place. The Bees will host Arsenal in a League Cup clash on September 27. The meeting starts at 21:45.
